BEAT SUPPORT

YouTube & Content ID

Understand the difference between releasing a song on YouTube, monetizing your own content and registering material with an automated Content ID system.

YOUTUBE

Uploading your finished song.

YouTube uploads

Your ability to upload and commercially use a song created with a Soul Chemist beat depends on the license you purchased. Your finished song and the underlying instrumental are not the same asset.

Monetization

Where your purchased license permits monetized commercial use, you may monetize your finished release on supported platforms in accordance with that license.

CONTENT ID

Do not confuse a license with ownership of the instrumental.

A beat license does not automatically give permission to register the underlying instrumental in Content ID.

Do not register the beat itself, its instrumental master or substantially unchanged versions of it in an automated rights management system unless your specific license expressly allows you to do so.

WHY THIS MATTERS

Nonexclusive beats may have more than one legitimate licensee.

Automated claims

A Content ID registration can generate automatic claims against other uploads containing the same underlying instrumental, including music released by another legitimate license holder.

Your finished recording

Your vocals, arrangement and finished song may contain original elements created by you. That does not automatically transfer ownership of the underlying beat.

CLAIMS

If you receive a claim.

01

Check the claim

Review who submitted it and which part of the video or song was identified.

02

Keep your license details ready

Locate your Soul Chemist order number and the license purchased for that beat.

03

Contact support if needed

Send the order number, song or video link and a screenshot of the claim so the situation can be reviewed.
